Butter Lettuce Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head butter lettuce 14 ounces or 400g
  • 1 cup (240ml) sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 English cucumber optional
  • 8 radishes optional
  • 2 tablespoons chopped dill
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives

Instructions

  • Cut radishes into thin slices. Dice the cucumber, sprinkle with salt, and let stand for 10 minutes.
  • Wash the lettuce thoroughly, leaf by leaf, and discard damaged outer leaves.
  • Dry the lettuce, either in a salad spinner or by hand with a kitchen towel. It´s important that the lettuce is dry.
  • In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, sugar, and lemon juice.
  • Place the cleaned and dried lettuce in a very large bowl. Season lightly with salt.
  • Squeeze out excess water from the cucumber. Add cucumber, radishes, chopped dill, and chives to the lettuce.
  • Add the dressing, toss until evenly combined.
  • Enjoy!
